Mortgage Rates Jump to a high 6.29%
Freddie Mac has reported that the 30-year mortgage rate increased to 6.29%, from 6.02% just last week. This is the highest it’s been since August 2007, just one year prior to the crash in the housing market.
Buyers are waiting to purchase because the mortgages are unaffordable so they continue to rent. This is creating a new market for tenants renewal rental rates to increase significantly.
